

Thomas Wobben
Director of Legislative works for the COTER, ECON and SEDEC commissions at the European Committee of the Regions
Thomas Wobben was born in Germany in 1965. After studying Economics and Politics in Cologne, he joined the civil service of the Land Saxony-Anhalt in 1993, where he was responsible for business, innovation and interregional cooperation with the European Union.
Subsequently, he worked for the Representation of Saxony-Anhalt to the European Union in Brussels, in charge of regional policy, innovation strategies and development of European cooperation projects. It was in his function as director of this office that he became involved in the policy development of the region on European affairs. He was also a member of the board of the European Citizen Action Service (ECAS) and the representative of the German Länder in the Council Working Group on Competitiveness.
Thomas joined the European Committee of the Regions in 2012 as Director for Horizontal Policies and Networks and is currently the Director of Legislative Works for the COTER, ECON and SEDEC commissions.
