The role of Regional Development Agencies
Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) are public-private entities, established by regional and local governments, with the purpose of mobilising local actors, private companies, public institutions, and civil society towards the attainment of improved economic development. European RDAs are as diverse as the countries they belong to and their activities carried out cover a wide spectrum such as supporting entrepreneurs, territorial promotion, attraction of investments, finance, technology innovation, promoting business efficiency and competitiveness, helping to internationalise companies within their territory, promoting employment, and contributing to sustainable development are just some of those activities.
RDAs have the potential to reassess entities acting as consultants, establish financing mechanisms and facilitate cooperation by gathering lots of diverse people.
